Artists' Association MUU is a national organisation promoting and presenting new artforms in Finland. In 2018 it celebrates its 30th year of operation. During the anniversary year, MUU has organised a wide range of events showcasing media art and media artists. The jubilee year culminates in a tour of MUU Gala 2018 in November–December 2018. A lot has happened in three decades, and MUU Gala 2018 presents the crème de la crème of Finnish media art. As the second-largest national artist organisation with 650 members, MUU is the largest body representing media artists in Finland.
MUU has invited artists
Tellervo Kalleinen and
Mika Taanila to curate the programme of the Gala. The Gala will present two screenings,
Beautiful Confusions and
Pysäyttäjät (Interceptors), both of them highlighting the distinctiveness, diversity and richness of Finnish media art. Both established as well as emerging artists are represented in the programme.

After the premiere in Helsinki 21 November 2018, curated screenings was held at the 80th anniversary celebration of the Union of Finnish Art Associations in Joensuu on 23 November. Next event will be organised at the Kuryokhin Centre in St Petersburg on 8 December. The program will be seen again in Helsinki at the

Sergey Kuryokhin Modern Art Center was founded in 2004. The center is named in honor of the 20th century outstanding musician and composer Sergey Kuryokhin. The main purpose of the сenter is to unite talented contemporary art exponents, who perform outside the purview of mainstream pop culture and to give them possibilities to present collaborative and individual art projects. Nowadays six annual international festivals are being held at Sergey Kuryokhin Modern Art Center: SKIF, Ethno-Mechanics, Electro-Mechanics, Videoforma Festival, street-art festival Art-Stena and Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award. http://kuryokhin.net

MUU (in Finnish: "the other") is a Finnish artist-run centre, founded 1987, to promote professional artists working across a wide range of disciplines. MUU Galleria arranges exhibitions, screenings, concerts and performances by artists and curators from Finland and abroad.
